Biography

Brooke Foster, PharmD, started as an assistant professor at Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Pharmacy School in July 2020. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. Dr. Foster completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice (Ambulatory-Focused) Residency and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin (Froedtert & MCW). During her residency, Dr. Foster coordinated Froedtert & MCW outpatient and ambulatory experiential education rotations and completed teaching certificate programs at both MCW and Concordia University of Wisconsin. She also created and implemented a new chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) pharmacist-led service in the primary care setting in order to expand access and improve quality of care. This COPD service became her current clinical practice site and she continues to expand and improve the service. Dr. Foster’s professional interests include implementation science, continuous quality improvement, direct patient care, interprofessional education, and experiential education.

Publications

My goal as an educator is to prepare future pharmacists to be lifelong learners with a sense of curiosity and passion for the field of pharmacy. I aim to have my enthusiasm for teaching and pharmacy practice shine through in everything I do in order to present pharmacy as a dynamic profession as that encourages learners to be engaged and confident.
