Why I chose MCW: I chose MCW because of my positive interview experience. The staff, faculty and residents at MCW are extremely friendly and I truly felt like I could be myself, which was very important to me when choosing where to spend the next five years of my life.
What MCW has to offer a Candidate: After seeing the PGY 4’s and 5’s in the operating room, it is easy to see that MCW produces outstanding orthopaedic surgeons. It is fascinating to watch the knowledge and surgical skill sets improve over the years with each class. MCW provides a solid platform for the fundamentals of research providing plenty of research opportunities for those who want them.
What I like about living in Milwaukee: It’s a beautiful city that offers many indoor and outdoor activities. It’s not landlocked; you have access to Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River. It’s incredibly easy to get around on foot. I highly suggest living in the city if it’s your first time living in a cold state, where you can easily walk to most locations. There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in summer or winter sports leagues if you are athletic, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to occupy your time if you are not.
