Why did I choose MCW? As a student, my first exposure to plastic surgery was through the department here at MCW. Within the first week, I saw an array of procedures ranging from head/neck to lower extremity reconstructions. As time went on, I noted that this was not just an abnormally busy week on the service, this was the day in and day out of all the attendings and residents. This broad exposure paired with high volume case experience was crucial in my decision to pursue further training here.
What does MCW have to offer? Diverse experience with early hands-on training that promotes confidence and comfort both in and out of the operating room. MCW offers all the tools that an aspiring plastic surgeon will need to become successful upon graduation, regardless of practice type or location. Training sites include large academic centers with Level I Trauma experience to the VA and satellite community hospitals. This program offers unparalleled experience from complex reconstructive cases to bread and butter plastic surgery.
What are my favorite things to do in Milwaukee? I grew up in Milwaukee and have witnessed it grow exponentially in the last 10-15 years. There has been an influx of restaurants, bars, and shops that cater to a diverse population. Outdoor activities are also easily accessible by car. It truly offers a big city vibe with small-town Midwestern charm. I love exploring new venues and restaurants with my friends during my free time. Any visitors are bound to find something they love about Milwaukee!
