Naya Jones, PhD

Dr. Jones is a health geographer and holistic health practitioner who specializes in qualitative, participatory, and arts-based methods. Her expertise is in qualitative interviewing, oral history methods and participatory action research. As a community-engaged scholar, she focuses on critical food studies, trauma-informed methods, and emotional geographies with emphasis on the experiences of Black populations (African-Americans and Afro-Latino/x) and other communities of color. Dr. Jones’ current research partnerships explore embodied methods with historically-marginalized populations and holistic health care seeking among African-Americans.
