Biography

Hometown: Louisville, KY

Why I chose MCW: I chose MCW primarily for the people and the operative experience. At MCW, we have an awesome group of grounded residents and approachable faculty who make residency more enjoyable. Also, my goal for residency was to learn to operate, so my choice was also influenced by the early operative time and the graduating of confident general practice orthopedists.

What MCW has to offer a Candidate: MCW has a great well-rounded experience for residents and a lot of early operative experience and autonomy.  As a level-1 trauma center, we get robust training in the fundamentals of trauma. With additional training sites at the VA and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, we have exposure to diverse patient populations and pathology.

What I like about living in Milwaukee: Milwaukee is an extremely underrated city. Having not spent much time here before beginning the program, I was a little unsure about how much I would like it. It has by far exceeded my expectations. Milwaukee has a myriad of great restaurants, breweries, festivals, parks, museums, etc. It’s never lacking in things to do!
