Biography
Sima Namin, PhD, is an urban planner by education and an interdisciplinary researcher. She joined MCW as a postdoctoral fellow in November 2017. She received her PhD in Urban Planning and public Policy in 2016 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research interests center on environmental justice and the political ecology of health with a focus on patterns of cancer incidence, mortality, and survival. She has a strong interest in the role of built environment characteristics, environmental exposures, and coping capacities that contribute to patterns of health disparities in vulnerable communities. She currently works with Dr. Kirsten Beyer’s research team.
