Research Interests

Vascular development, endothelial flow responses, etiology of vascular malformations
I am interested in understanding how blood vessels develop to form an inter-connected, stable and perfused network that continuously supply oxygen, nutrients and cellular factors to the developing embryo. During my postdoctoral training in Dr. Brian Link’s lab, I will be engaged in two projects. My primary aim will be aimed at delineating how YAP signaling potentiates TIP60 translocation to the nucleus in cardiomyocytes & endothelial cells and thereafter elucidate how this interaction affects cardiac regeneration in vertebrates. My second project will be aimed at addressing if endothelial cilia affect the patterning and stabilization of blood vessels in the brain. I will be using zebrafish (Danio rerio), a genetically tractable vertebrate model, to address these questions.
