Dermatology Participates in 15th Annual Block Melanoma Walk Run
On Sunday, May 19, 2019, MCW dermatology residents and faculty members provided free SpotMe Skin Checks for participants of the Ann’s Hope Foundation 15th Annual Block Melanoma 5k run and 3k walk at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Ann’s Hope Foundation (AHF) was founded in 2005 by Ann Harrington and Anne Frentzel, friends who both lost loved ones to melanoma. Ann’s brother, Craig Harasha, was diagnosed with advanced melanoma in September 2004 and lost his battle six months later. Anne’s father, Richard Cibula, passed away from melanoma after a two-year fight with the disease in November 2002.
AHF is the only melanoma foundation in Wisconsin that hosts several events to raise funds for melanoma research and education. The foundation is dedicated to creating a community for those affected by melanoma and ultimately a cure for melanoma.
