Meet the New ASLMS Student Board Representatives

The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS) was founded in 1980 and is the world's largest professional organization dedicated to promoting research, education and high standards of clinical care in the field of medical laser and energy-based applications. ASLMS provides a forum for the exchange of scientific information and participates in communicating the latest developments in laser and energy-based research to investigators, regulatory agencies, and the public.

One of our third-year residents, Ashaki Patel, MD, was selected to be a resident representative on the student board. The position of Resident/Fellow Board Representative on the Board of Directors of ASLMS offers a practical non-profit, non-voting board leadership experience and opportunities to receive mentoring from established leaders. In addition, the individual will inform the board and provide a student’s perspective on issues impacting residents/fellows and their education. The ASLMS board welcomes the unique perspective residents and fellows can bring to the organization. Congratulations, Dr. Ashaki Patel!
