Saurabh Chhabra, MD, is assistant professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. He specializes in the management of multiple myeloma and in Blood and Marrow Transplantation for hematologic malignancies.

He is a graduate of University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, India. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2008 and Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology in 2011, at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. He then went on to complete a Fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Stanford University in Stanford, CA in 2012. Dr. Chhabra was recruited from Stanford to Charleston, SC as an Assistant Professor in Medicine, in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Medical University of South Carolina where he was a member of the Hematologic Malignancies/BMT program. He directed the Plasma Cell Disorders clinic at MUSC and was the site Principal Investigator of several industry-sponsored and cooperative group clinical trials, including the BMT Clinical Trials Network (CTN) trials. Dr. Chhabra received the coveted “Outstanding Clinician Award” in 2015 for his services at MUSC. He joined the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2016.

Research Interests

Dr. Chhabra is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He has authored or co-authored numerous publications, including journal articles, meeting abstracts and four book chapters. His current research interests include treatment of patients with high-risk plasma cell neoplasms and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.
