Biography

Dr. George graduated from Medical College Thiruvananthapuram, in Kerala, India in 1998. He was a PhD candidate in Pathology at the Keck School of Medicine (University of Southern California) in Los Angeles, CA from 1999-2004. In 2005, Dr. George completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Ohio and subsequently his residency at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He then completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (2007-2010). Most recently, Dr. George completed a dedicated fellowship in Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in medical oncology and hematology.

Research Interests

Dr. Ben George joined the Medical College of Wisconsin faculty in 2011 as an associate professor of medicine in the division of hematology and oncology. Dr. George specializes in gastrointestinal medical oncology. His interests include colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, small bowel and appendiceal neoplasms, cholangiocarcinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma. His current research interests are focused on colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer.
