Society of Teaching Scholars 2021 Award Recipients and New Members
Congratulations to Dr. Michael Malinowski, Associate Professor of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, on being inducted into the Society of Teaching Scholars. This membership is in recognition of his teaching excellence, preeminent educational scholarship and exceptional educational leadership.
Congratulations to Dr. Rana Higgins, Associate Professor of the Division of Minimally Invasive and Gastrointestinal Surgery, Department of Surgery, for being one of the recipients of the Edward J. Lennon, MD, Endowed Clinical Teaching Award. Recipients of this award are full-time junior faculty engaged in clinical practice who have demonstrated a proclivity for teaching at MCW and are committed to excellence in teaching or education al development.
And congratulations also goes to Dr. Ashley Cayo who was one of the recipients of the Marvin Wagner, MD, Preceptor Award. The Wagner Award recognizes the important contributions and valuable service provided by volunteer preceptors and clinical faculty members in helping to educate our students, residents and fellows. Dr. Cayo is a graduate of the MCW General Surgery Residency Program and is a volunteer faculty member currently at Aurora Grafton. She works with the MCW General Surgery Residency Program and Student Clerkship.
The awards will be presented at the MCW Convocation Ceremonies on September 23, 2021.
