Dr. John Conto Named Diplomate in Anterior Segment Disease by the American Academy of Optometry

John Conto, MDAt the American Academy of Optometry 2021 annual meeting in Boston, Dr. John Conto achieved the honor of Diplomate, Anterior Segment Disease. He is one of seven in the nation to have this distinction in this specialty area of ocular disease.

Dr. Conto achieved this distinction after a series of both written and oral examinations to demonstrate excellence beyond those of the Fellowship program. Overall, only 1% of all optometrists are successful in this endeavor. Currently Dr. Conto is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and his clinical and research interests are in dry eye and ocular surface disease.
