CHIMC-TCI!

Community Health Improvement for Milwaukee’s Children-Take Control Immunize! is a project that aims to reduce immunization disparities among Milwaukee’s children under the ages birth to eighteen. Since 2005, this project has been using a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to engage community members as active researchers in all project activities. Community agency representatives and community members are involved in all aspects of the project including design, implementation, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of findings. CHIMC-TCI! has received a three-year grant from the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities at the National Institutes of Health to expand upon previous phases of the CBPR project. The three-year continuation grant March 2013-February 2016 was implemented in the following zip codes: 53203, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53209, 53210, 53212, 53216, 53218, and 53233.
