Biography

I was born in Pittsburgh but grew up in the Atlanta, GA area. I went to the University of Georgia for undergrad, Medical College of Georgia for medical school, then moved up to Milwaukee for internship and residency. I'm here with my fiancée (currently pediatrics chief resident) and our dog.

Milwaukee summers can't be beat. As someone who grew up in the South, the ability to really enjoy the summer makes the cold winters absolutely worth it. Usually there are tons of activities every summer - festivals galore, sports events, etc. and the whole city seems to come together to enjoy the weather and the company.

We have a tight-knit community here at MCW. I think my favorite thing about this program is how approachable everyone is. All of the attendings, Program Director and APDs, even the Chair of the department make themselves readily available for residents. As an example, I approached our PD early in my PGY2 year about starting a longitudinal Medical Education Track, and he immediately embraced the idea and advocated to make it a reality. We have journal clubs and book clubs at attendings’ houses and have tons of opportunities to get to know them on a personal level.
