Dr. Stephanie Zanowski Named Director of Psychology Services

Stephanie Zanowski, PhDIn September 2021, MCW announced the intent to hire a director of psychology services to lead and manage all activities relating to psychology providers across the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. This role is designed to provide consistent leadership for psychology roles outside of the department of psychiatry. Following a robust internal candidate search, we are pleased to welcome Stephanie Zanowski, PhD, as the new director of psychology services, effective February 1. Dr. Zanowski is currently an assistant professor of surgery and psychiatry in the division of transplant surgery at MCW. Dr. Zanowski serves as the director of transplantation mental health within the transplantation service line for Froedtert Health, MCW, Children’s Wisconsin, and Versiti. She is a supervisor of the transplant psychology rotation for the health psychology residency program, and a preceptor for the medical student well-being curriculum.

In this role, Dr. Zanowski will direct and oversee the activities of the Psychology Steering Committee, including peer review, recruitment/onboarding, credentialing, professional development, and educational coordination. She will serve as a resource to embedded psychologists across the Froedtert & MCW health network, and she or her delegates will represent psychologists on many MCW/MCP committees. As part of this role, she will work with practice leadership to streamline vital operations across the organization, ensure compliant regulatory and billing practices and work collaboratively with all MCP departments to offer psychology services where needed. One of her most important charges will be to ensure that embedded psychologists receive the mentorship and support necessary to succeed in their roles, regardless of where they sit within the organization.

This position will report directly to the CMO of ambulatory specialty practice. Dr. Zanowski is excited to take on this new challenge and eager for the opportunity to collaborate with clinical chairs, psychologists, behavioral health leaders and providers across the Froedtert & MCW enterprise.
