Eye Institute

My goal is to determine the cause of my patients’ eye or visual disorders and create a plan of action that will ultimately help resolve their issues. I treat my patients with compassion and respect by being a good listener and paying attention to the details they present. I have served in the greater Milwaukee area for over 20 years in a private practice setting. I am happy to share my experience and knowledge with my patients at the Eye Institute, piecing together clues to discover underlying problems they are facing and providing them with the best care possible.

Biography

Dr. Hoggatt grew up in the Milwaukee area and remembers playing on the Milwaukee County Grounds with her father, Dr. Elieser B. Suson, who was one of the original recruits of the first chair of the Eye Institute. She graduated from medical school at the University of Wisconsin in 1990. She then spent two years in Charleston, SC where she completed her internship in internal medicine and a year of ocular pathology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. After finishing her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995, she joined her father and her brother, Dr. John Suson, in private practice in Wauwatosa and Glendale. In 2017, Dr. Hoggatt returned "back home" to the Eye Institute and continues to serve the residents of Southeastern Wisconsin. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Hoggatt welcomes patients from adolescents to seniors with a variety of vision and eye problems. Dr. Hoggatt and her husband Scott, owner of VeloCity Cycling in Pewaukee, have four children together. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Hoggatt enjoys cheering for her children at sporting and theater events, practicing taekwondo, hiking, and skiing.
