Adrienne M. Markiewicz, RN, APNP

Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner

I believe that truly excellent critical care depends on the ability to see the patient as a person and to balance and prioritize medical interventions in order to best accomplish the wishes and needs of the patient and their family. I view the work I do as a team effort between myself, my patient and my patient’s family so that the patient’s goals, in terms of treatment and quality of life, are achieved. In a large teaching hospital like Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin, I am empowered to mobilize the best resources to help my patients navigate the complex area of critical care and to achieve the best possible outcome.

Having lived in Wisconsin for most of my life, I have a passion to provide high quality critical care services to the people of this area.

I completed my undergraduate work at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL in Spanish Language (2010) and Nursing (2011) and completed my Master of Science in Nursing with an Intensivist Subspecialty in 2015 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  I am board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and also hold my specialty nursing certification in critical care from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.  Due in part to my background and education, I am very passionate about the MICU population and have specific interests in the physiology and treatment of Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and the integration of Advanced Practice Providers to critical care settings.  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our two cats.
