About the Cardiovascular Center
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States. The Medical College of Wisconsin's Cardiovascular Center is a nationally recognized leader in the study of the basic mechanisms underlying diseases of the heart, lung and blood vessels. Its scope is comprehensive, including all aspects of cardiac, vascular and cardiopulmonary biology and is the only academic institute in southeastern Wisconsin where physicians and scientists are actively engaged in the fight against all heart related conditions.
The mission of the Cardiovascular Center is to improve cardiovascular health in southeast Wisconsin and beyond with cutting-edge research; discovery science to patient care of the highest quality; rigorous training of the next generation of cardiovascular scientists; and community engagement to eliminate disparities in health outcomes.
