Evidence Based Medicine LibGuide | MCW Libraries Featured Resource
Our guide illustrates the 5 steps of the EBM process, from asking the clinical question to applying the information to patient care, with a focus on asking the clinical question, acquiring the best evidence, and assessing the information.
The guide provides an overview on how to ask a clinical question using the PICO model. Our Databases to Search page showcases databases you can use to acquire the evidence. Find a detailed pyramid of evidence, and a list of our databases sorted by the level of evidence of information they contain. Finally, we link to worksheets and checklists that can be used to appraise the evidence.
Additional features of our guide are a video titled Climbing the Pyramid of Evidence, and resources in the MCW Libraries collection that can be used to teach EBM.
