Departments of Biophysics, Cell Biology team up to help community

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Department of Biophysics Chair Balaraman Kalyanaraman, PhD, and Janet Pradarelli, along with MCW Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology & Anatomy (CBNA) Chair Jonathan Marchant, PhD, and Virginia Moths, teamed up on June 18 to help pack groceries for Mobile Market shoppers who live in one of Milwaukee’s food deserts.

The Mobile Market is a mobile grocery store run by the Hunger Task Force which partners with Pick ‘n Save and Milwaukee County to bring fresh produce, dairy products and meat at discounted rates to people in need. The two MCW departments plan to “adopt” the site as a monthly commitment to engage in the Milwaukee communities.
