The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is recruiting adults in Milwaukee for its COVID-19 population health project called Fight COVID Milwaukee.

Fight COVID Milwaukee aims to better understand how demographics, including prior COVID infection and vaccine status, affect a person’s risk for hospitalization or death from COVID-19.

Adults residing in Milwaukee County who are 1) enrolled in Wisconsin Medicaid (BadgerCare), or 2) patients at a partner health center, or 3) members of a partner church or community agency are eligible to participate in the study. Eligibility criteria can be found at fightcovidmilwaukee.org. Nearly 3,000 participants have already enrolled.
To join, the study requires informed consent, a survey about experiences with COVID-19, and an account of health history. Participants also receive a COVID antibody test at no charge and compensation for their time.

Fight COVID Milwaukee has created a state-of-the-art individual risk estimator that estimates life expectancy loss from COVID compared with cancer and car crashes using confidential demographic information, including chronic conditions, that influence life expectancy. The estimator also compares outcomes of those who are unvaccinated with those who have already been infected by or vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 20,000 people have used the confidential risk estimator.
