Innovative Three-Year PharmD Program

The First and Only Three-Year Pharmacy Program in Wisconsin
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Pharmacy School is one of the few pharmacy schools in the country, and the only institution in Wisconsin, offering a three-year doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) degree in an exceptionally supportive, approachable and innovative learning environment. The MCW Pharmacy School is the only three-year PharmD program in the Midwest that is located on an academic medical center such as the Milwaukee Regional Medical Complex, providing access to world-renowned resources at Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for students and faculty alike.

As an MCW PharmD student, your experience will balance more than a century of rich healthcare education traditions with cutting-edge educational technologies and team-based learning models in a 21st century pharmacy school curriculum preparing you to meet the future head on. Additionally, our high caliber faculty bring their dedication to improving the health and quality of life of the patients and communities they serve.

The approach to a three-year curriculum is an innovative initiative at MCW. Similar to the MCW Pharmacy School, the MCW-Central Wisconsin and MCW-Green Bay campuses feature a three-year curriculum, a calendar efficient schedule allowing students to complete their medical degree (MD) in one community in three years. The three-year curriculum is achieved by reducing the length of traditional school breaks and increasing the efficiency of academic delivery.  Thus, it allows students to graduate sooner and begin practicing one year earlier.
