Marjorie Wang, MD, MPH, selected as a Director of the American Board of Neurological Surgery
Marjorie Wang, MD, MPH, Professor and Vice Chair of Clinical Operations; Chief, Community Division of Neurosurgery; Director, Spine Fellowship Program; Department of Neurosurgery, has been selected as a Director of the American Board of Neurological Surgery for a six-year term. Dr. Wang’s term commences in May 2018.
The American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS), established in 1940, is the premiere body that defines the requirements for training in neurological surgery. The ABNS develops and administers the primary and oral board exams for neurosurgeons. Its mission is to improve the practice and elevate the standards of neurosurgery nationally and advance the science of neurological surgery.
The board is comprised of just 10 members nationwide. Dr. Wang is one of very few women who have been bestowed this honor. She is also the first neurosurgeon from the Medical College of Wisconsin to be elected to the board of directors of the ABNS.
