Meet Academic and Student Services New Staff

Amy Beierle, Instructional Designer

Amy comes to MCW and the OEI Team from a background in elementary education. Prior to joining OEI, Amy taught for 13 years in the public school systems of Milwaukee and Lake Geneva. She was also employed as a contracted Learning Designer, which consisted of writing, creating, and reviewing science lessons and activities using agriculture as a lens for science instruction.

Amy was attracted to MCW for many reasons, one of which was the opportunity to work with adult learners in new and innovative ways. She is excited to be a part of the MCW team and dedicated to supporting training for future health science practitioners.

Growing up in the area, she is proud to become part of an organization connected to the local community. She feels OEI is a great fit for her as the team feels very passionate about education and is always looking for ways to help others.

In her new role, Amy hopes to build strong working relationships with faculty to provide exciting and engaging educational experiences for students. She hopes to bring her joy of learning to the projects she works on to create memorable educational experiences.

Welcome Amy!

Kelly Horton, Interprofessional Education Coordinator

Kelly comes to MCW and the OEI team from a professional background in elementary education. She has eight years of teaching experience in urban, suburban, and rural settings.

Kelly became interested in working for MCW when family members with serious health needs received their care at Froedtert. Spending years witnessing her family receive expert care from MCW faculty, staff, and students, Kelly felt that working at MCW would not only fit her skills but offer her the chance to do work she deeply cares about.

As part of the OEI team, Kelly enjoys the opportunity to serve MCW faculty, staff, and students in the School of Medicine in learning how to communicate better and improve patient care. In her new role, Kelly looks forward to building on the foundation of IPE at MCW and refining the Core Thread program. Her plans include creating more interactive, collaborative learning opportunities and sharing some of the amazing things happening at MCW. Welcome Kelly!
