Patient offers Doctors’ Day tribute to Dr. Denise Uyar
Dr. Denise Uyar, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and chief of gynecologic oncology who sees patients in the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center, was honored by Ann Moore, one of her patients.
“Dr. Uyar, Happy National Doctors' Day. I am so grateful for the surgical/medical care you gave to me. I do believe with all of my heart that your competence combined with your compassionate care contributed greatly to my healing,” Ann said. “During each and every interaction, I felt deeply respected and you were fully present as we laughed together, developed a plan of action together, and when I cried with both anxiety and relief. You have a special and unique way of connecting, and I am deeply appreciative that at the time I received a cancer diagnosis, you were my doctor.”
Dr. Uyar received her MD from the University of Vermont, where she also completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency. She completed a fellowship in gynecology oncology at the Cleveland Clinic, and has been at MCW since 2004.
In honor of National Doctors’ Day, which is celebrated March 30, the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Office of Development and the Froedtert Hospital Foundation invite individuals to “Honor a Doctor” by donating to MCW or FHF in the name of a deserving physician. The physician your donation honors will receive a letter alerting him or her and their name will be listed on a special Doctors’ Day recognition page.
Ann Moore’s contribution made her a partner in our work. With support from donors like Ann, MCW researchers and clinicians are working together to deliver exceptional care enhanced by discovery. Please take this opportunity to honor a Medical College of Wisconsin physician who’s made a difference in your life.
