Science and skiing at the 2019 Western Trauma Association Meeting
Submitted by Rob McMillan, MD
This photo was taken in Snowmass, CO during the 2019 Western Trauma Association meeting. It was taken at just over 11,000 feet at the top of one of the Snowmass ski resort mountains. Both the science and the skiing were top notch.
From MCW, Dr. Kelly Boyle (not in this photo) and Dr. Thomas Carver gave excellent podium presentations. The skiing was amazing, and it was great fun to meet up with Tanner who graduated last year. Tanner, Dr. Carver, and Kristin Carver were particularly skilled skiers, but the rest of us weren’t too far behind them. The conference was a blast from beginning to end.
From left to right: Dr. Marshall Beckman (MCW Trauma and Acute Care Surgery); Dr. Thomas Carver (MCW Trauma and Acute Care Surgery); Kristin Carver (spouse of Thomas Carver); Dr. Tanner Spees (MCW General Surgery grad of 2018, currently the Surgical Critical Care Fellow at the University of New Mexico); Dr. Todd Neideen (MCW Trauma and Acute Care Surgery); Dr. Robert McMillan (MCW General Surgery Chief Resident); Dr. Rachel Landisch (MCW General Surgery Chief Resident); Dr. Steven Masnyj (MCW General Surgery Chief Resident)
