Second Annual Cancer Crush to generate awareness and support for cancer research and care.

While we don’t fully understand why, cancer rates and mortality are higher in Wisconsin vs the U.S., and Wisconsin’s minorities suffer from significantly higher incidence and mortality rates, as reported by Fox 6 News. In Milwaukee County, 1 in 2.6 people are expected to develop cancer in their lifetime. More than 1,600 people in Milwaukee County will likely die from cancer this year. Cancer touches everyone in our community and for many, the impact is devastating. Research cures cancer, and cancer research is a top strategic priority.

Cancer Crush was started in 2018 to support the most promising research and most effective treatments of this devastating disease. That's the focus of the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Research Center, the only academic cancer research center in Milwaukee.

Proceeds from Cancer Crush will fuel lifesaving cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin in partnership with Froedtert Hospital. Together, we can all help science crush cancer.

This 1 mile or 5K run/walk kicks off at the Froedtert & MCW Clinical Cancer Center on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019.
