Two Local Community Leaders Join the Medical College of Wisconsin Board of Trustees
Milwaukee, Nov. 21, 2019 – The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) recently welcomed two new trustees to its board: Christy L. Brown, JD, and John M. Grogan.
The MCW Board of Trustees provides strategic direction to support the institution’s four core missions: patient care, education, research and community engagement. The elected members of the board are business executives, philanthropists and distinguished community leaders who pool their wealth of knowledge and experience to advance these missions to enhance the health and vitality of our community.
Christy L. Brown, JD is the chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, providing strategic leadership for more than 34,000 members. Brown is a director for the Northwestern Mutual Series Fund, Inc. and a trustee at Carroll University in Waukesha. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University in Stanford, California, and a Master of Arts degree and Juris Doctor from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She also received a certificate in strategic nonprofit management from Harvard Business School’s executive education program.
John M. Grogan is Executive Vice President, Chief Product and Innovation Officer for Northwestern Mutual. Grogan serves on the company’s senior leadership team with overall leadership responsibility for Northwestern’s insurance businesses and the company’s innovation strategy. He also serves on the boards of Marquette University High School and LIMRA/LOMA Global. Grogan is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and of the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. He also completed the Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
