Dr. Sheth elected to leadership role in American Board of Ophthalmology
Bhavna P. Sheth, MD, MBA, professor of ophthalmology & visual sciences at the Medical College of Wisconsin, has been elected to serve as the 2018 vice chair and the 2019 chair of the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
Dr. Sheth is the chief of the comprehensive ophthalmology service at the MCW Eye Institute as well as the chief of the ophthalmology section at the Zablocki VA Medical Center. During her time at MCW, she also has served as the director of MCW’s ophthalmology residency program and medical student education program. Dr. Sheth is the recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Achievement Award. In addition to authoring peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, she received her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 2012.
Dr. Sheth has been on the board of directors of the ABO, an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying eye physicians and surgeons in the U.S., since 2012. In her new leadership role, she will succeed Dale K. Heuer, MD, MCW professor and chair of ophthalmology & visual sciences, who is currently the vice chair and will be the chair of the ABO in 2018.
