On Sunday, May 19, 2013 the Eye Institute "Globe Trotters" will be participating in the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) 5th annual VisionWalk on Milwaukee's Lakefront. Proceeds from the VisionWalk support research into preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, and other retinal degenerative diseases.
The Eye Institute is very proud to be a sponsor of this event and that Joseph Carroll, PhD, co-Director of the Advanced Ocular Imaging Program, has been the recipient of funding from FFB. "We are very excited to once again support FFB by walking for a great cause that is central to the missions of both of our organizations. In our 3rd year of participation we hope to build our largest team yet, and strive to be the largest team in the walk," said Carroll, Research co-Chair for the 2013 VisionWalk.
