MCW Names New Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs

Christina L. Runge, PhD, associate professor of otolaryngology and communication sciences, chief of the division of communication sciences and director of the Koss Cochlear Implant Program, has been named senior associate dean for faculty affairs at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Since July 2014, Dr. Runge also has served as director of faculty development in the office of faculty affairs.

As senior associate dean for faculty affairs, Dr. Runge will lead the strategic planning and direction of the office of faculty affairs and the recruitment, development, engagement, mentoring and retention of MCW faculty. Additionally, Dr. Runge will facilitate faculty advancement, and will cultivate and sustain a culture of inclusiveness, transparency, accountability, collegiality and balanced contributions to the missions of MCW.

SPUR program hosts record number of undergrad students

July 6 - A record number of undergraduate students from universities across the country are spending their summer vacation pursuing scientific research at the Medical College of Wisconsin as part of the Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). The program, offered at MCW for more than 30 years, provides a summer internship experience for students considering health-related careers, especially in the biomedical sciences. As part of the program, the MCW Graduate School matches each student with a faculty mentor to provide hands-on research opportunities.
