Patient, physician, researchers work together to solve AVM mysteries

Jan. 24 - Sixteen years ago, Kelleigh Gustafson was diagnosed with rare and massive arteriovenous malformation (AVM) on the right side of her head and neck that affect her sensory organs, trachea, esophagus, brain and heart.

Join the Froedtert & MCW Team at the Steve Cullen Healthy Heart Run/Walk on Feb. 11

Jan. 18 - The 21st annual Steve Cullen Healthy Heart Club Run & Walk will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at Wil-O-Way Recreation Center, 10602 Underwood Parkway in Wauwatosa. The event supports heart research at the internationally recognized Cardiovascular Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where more than 170 faculty physicians and research scientists study the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease.

Strikes for Hope Charity Bowling Tournament on Feb. 25 to benefit MCW Cancer Center

Jan. 16 - The ninth annual Strikes for Hope Charity Bowling Tournament will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Sussex Bowl. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center for cancer research.

Big-league gift from Dr. Paul Jacobs

Jan. 5 - Two unlikely turns in life led to happy surprises and life-altering detours for Paul A. Jacobs, MD. As a devoted Dodgers baseball fan growing up on the schoolyard ball diamonds of Brooklyn, he couldn't have imagined he would switch his allegiance and work for a major league franchise in Milwaukee.
