Will MCW provide teaching materials for me to use?

Yes, most courses and clerkships are developed and approved by a process at MCW so that all campuses are teaching the same things to all students, regardless of campus. Materials including discussion questions, skills content, and PowerPoints would be provided for your review prior to the scheduled session.

There may be a few exceptions in some instances, however, those would be discussed prior to you accepting the teaching opportunity.

I have never taught formally before. Are there resources to help me be a good educator?

Yes! The regional campuses subscribe to an online resource library called TeachingPhysician.org for our appointed faculty members to use. Also, the MCW Department of Faculty Development regularly shares tips and tricks, and resources with all appointed faculty.

What specific information do I need to know about the courses or other teaching opportunities?
