I will be there to guide, interpret, and make recommendations to patients as they manage their illnesses and transverse our complicated healthcare system. I encourage the use of MyChart, electronic messaging, social media, the internet and other information tools to improve communication with patients and to improve health outcomes.

Dr. Gillis returned to full-time practice after leading the implementation of the electronic medical record system, patient care portal (MyChart) and other technologies to improve the processes of care over the past 10 years within the Froedtert and Medical College health systems. Dr. Gillis has also participated in the education of medical students, interns, residents, and colleagues as well as held administrative roles in various levels of the Medical College practice.

As an internist, Dr. Gillis is most often seen in the role of a primary care physician, helping to diagnose, manage and coordinate the care of patients with multiple illnesses. Dr. Gillis feels strongly that the management of chronic illness is a partnership between the physician and the patient. He will be there to guide, interpret, and make recommendations to patients as they manage their illnesses and transverse our complicated healthcare system.

Dr. Gillis encourages the use of MyChart, electronic messaging, social media, the internet as well as other information tools to improve communication, educate, and report on your health, all in an effort to improve care processes and outcomes.

MyChart is a convenient connection to your healthcare team that is used extensively in Dr. Gillis’s practice. It allows private and secure communication back and forth with the clinic as well as a view of your health problems, current medications, test results, and upcoming appointments. Additionally MyChart facilitates prescription renewals and appointment scheduling.

Dr. Gillis’ other interests include his family, running, cycling, golf, cooking, photography, classic cars and playing with technology. Many of these interests have grown from a need to help patients gain a better understanding of the management of health and chronic illnesses.  This allows Dr. Gillis to do much more than prescribing a medication or making a referral it allows him to practice a philosophy of caring which encompasses the whole person.
