Seth Molloy Flynn appointed Executive Director of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association
Seth Molloy Flynn has accepted our offer to serve as Executive Director of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association and Executive Director of Alumni Relations at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Seth started on September 14, and plans are already underway for him to meet with MCW alumni around the state and throughout the country.
Seth comes to us from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where for nearly a decade he served in various senior alumni, development, and communications-marketing roles. Most recently, he worked as Manager of the College of Medicine Office of Alumni Relations and Manager of Development Communications for UK Healthcare, the clinical services and patient care enterprise at the University of Kentucky – one of the nation’s oldest public land-grant universities.
During his tenure, Seth served as the primary communications conduit to the College of Medicine’s alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and students. His primary responsibilities included constructing strategic communication initiatives, supporting scholarship opportunities and recruitment of prominent faculty, and conceiving and implementing various forms of programming.
He played a key role in promoting the College’s 50th Anniversary, a yearlong celebration that focused on its historic mission. Seth also provided oversight as the College of Medicine’s Office of Alumni Relations undertook a process with its Board Members, other alumni, and College Administration to re-envision programmatic offerings, priorities, and engagement strategies.
Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Seth worked in public relations at Lexmark International, Inc. and served as Communications Manager for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. A native of Somerset, Kentucky, Seth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he majored in English and Communication Media Studies. He and his dog, Porter “Wagoner,” will reside in Wauwatosa.
As Executive Director of the MCW/Marquette Medical Alumni Association and Executive Director of the Office of Alumni Relations, Seth’s responsibilities include working with the more than 15,000 alumni of the MCW Medical School, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the Marquette Medical School (the predecessor institution of the Medical School). The Alumni Association sponsors programming for students and faculty, provides an annual diversity scholarship award for medical students, and hosts the annual Alumni Weekend – which draws graduates from around the country. The Alumni Association ensures that alumni have a strong role in the growth and development of MCW.
Finally, we want to take this opportunity to thank Bill Schultz for his dedication to MCW alumni over the last 21 years. Bill has worked diligently to elevate the role alumni play at MCW, which has produced a solid foundation on which Seth and the Office of Alumni Relations will build and move forward.
Please join us in giving Seth a warm welcome to the MCW family.
