Affiliated Hospitals, Inc. (MCWAH)
 

The Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) is a consortium that was established in 1980 to facilitate the administration of Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs conducted jointly by the Medical College of Wisconsin in conjunction with 10 health care institutions in the greater Milwaukee area.  In addition, MCWAH ensures the accreditation of its training programs by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  Currently, MCWAH employs 750 housestaff in 71 accredited residency and fellowship programs.

Opportunities in Graduate Medical Education


Presently, the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) offers over 100 residency and fellowship programs.  In addition to its 71 accredited programs, this includes 30 formal fellowship programs in subspecialities for which no current ACGME accreditation exists. 

Examples include: Transplant Nephrology, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Obstetric Anesthesiology.  These programs are reviewed and approved by the Graduate Medical Education Council (GMEC) of MCWAH.
