Application Process
1. Complete a Certificate Seeking application online, submit with a $50 payment. 2. Make arrangement for official transcripts from all previous undergraduate, graduate and medical institutions to be sent directly to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Transcripts in the hands of prospective students are not accepted as "official" unless remitted with signed seals intact. International applicants may have additional requirements, see "International Students." 3. Arrange two letters of recommendation, along with two "Admission Recommendation Forms" to be sent directly from the recommender to the graduate school office. Any recommendation letters/forms received via the applicant are required to arrive with signature seals intact. Public Health Certificate seeking applicants must provide three recommendations and forms. 4. Non-U.S. citizens are required to take TOEFL and make arrangement for an official score report to be sent directly from ETS to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. A minimum score of 100 is required on the Internet Based Test. The Institution Code is 1519, Department code is 0000.

Non-degree seeking admission is available for those who wish to pursue continued professional development. Non-Degree Admission affords a student to enroll in classes for three consecutive terms, i.e.. one school year, on a part time basis, with a maximum credit accumulation of 15 credits. Some coursework taken as a non-degree student may be applied to a degree program, but not in all situations.
International applicants may have additional requirements, see "International Students."
Application for the Functional Imaging Doctor of Philosophy degree, Healthcare Technologies Management and Bioinformatics Master of Science Joint degree programs should be made through Marquette University.
Application for the Master of Science in Medical Informatics joint degree program should be made through Milwaukee School of Engineering.
All required information should be submitted by the applicant directly to the Graduate School office.
Review of completed applications is conducted by a faculty committee within the academic department/program. The outcome of the committee review is forwarded to the Dean as a recommendation for admission or rejection.
Final action on each application is carried out by the Dean, who signs all letters of acceptance or rejection on behalf of the academic program and MCW.
Applicants requesting a waiver of the GRE, TOEFL, or other application requirements should include this request in writing with application materials.
