A note from the Director: Joseph T. Barbieri, PhD
The mission of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP, MD-PhD) at the Medical College of Wisconsin is to support clinical and research training leading for the combined MD-PhD degree. There is a national shortage of physician-scientists who can care for patients and conduct state-of-the-art research. The MSTP trains students to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical research by providing graduate training in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and clinical training in the Medical School.
