MCW Researchers Launch Company for Blood Test to Determine Heart Transplant Rejection

July 27 - In a front page article, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports on plans by Dr. Michael Mitchell and Aoy Tomita-Mitchell, PhD, (both Surgery – Cardiothoracic Pediatrics) to house their new company – Tai Diagnostics, Inc. - in the UWM Innovation Accelerator. At Tai Diagnostics, the Mitchells are developing a blood test for determining whether a heart-transplant recipient is in danger of rejecting the new heart. The test would replace invasive biopsies.
