About the Ocular Gene Therapy Laboratory (OGTL) at the Medical College of Wisconsin

Founded in 2016 by Daniel M. Lipinski, DPhil, the Ocular Gene Therapy Laboratory (OGTL) aims to develop broadly applicable gene-based therapeutics to prevent human blindness arising from neurodegenerative or vascular diseases affecting the retina. Consisting of faculty, students and staff from a diverse range of academic backgrounds, the OGTL laboratory takes a highly multidisciplinary and collaborative approach toward research, working with basic science and clinical investigators worldwide to identify novel therapies for currently untreatable conditions that result in vision loss in humans.
