• Invited as a Distinguished Guest Lecture for the 12th Annual Magnolia Conference, Dr. John Rhee will travel to Charleston, SC, June 1-2. The conference is hosted by the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.
• Dr. Bob Chun discussed his paper on necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria) cases in children over the past decade, and the need for early diagnosis and treatment, with Fox News on April 16. Dr. Chun’s paper is published in the Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Co-authors include Dr. Cecille Sulman and former resident Dr. Ericka King.
• Congratulations to Dr. Jon Bock, Dr. David Poetker and Dr. Chris Runge who had courses accepted at the 2012 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting for the first time! Other names I recognized as having a course accepted at the meeting include Drs. Todd Loehrl, David Friedland, Joel Blumin, B.T. Woodson and Dean Kerschner.
• Dr. Becky Massey and Dr. Bruce Campbell both received recognition for achieving one of the 20 highest scores on the Froedtert Hospital Patient Satisfaction Survey in the Inpatient Group for the fiscal year 2010-2011. Dr. John Rhee also received recognition from Froedtert by being the highest scoring physician in the Day Surgery group in the Patient Satisfaction Survey. Congrats to all!
• We are very proud of Dr. Joseph Kerschner who was installed as the 10th Dean of the Medical School and Executive Vice President of the Medical College of Wisconsin on February 15th. A video of the ceremony can be viewed at:
