We are a group of physicians, nurses, and support staff dedicated to the care of people with musculoskeletal diseases, including arthritis, connective tissues diseases, vasculitis, and other diseases of the bones and joints. In addition to caring for our patients, our faculty participates in clinical trials of novel therapies for arthritis. We also have active research programs in osteoarthritis, calcium crystal arthritis, scleroderma, myositis, and lupus.

Lawrence M. Ryan, MD, Professor of Medicine (Rheumatology), was elected a Master in the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and was officially inducted at the national ACR meeting in Washington, D.C. in November 2012.
Recognition as a Master is one of the highest honors the ACR bestows. Dr. Ryan was recognized for his pioneering contributions to our understanding of calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease, his exemplary patient care, and his profound influence on several generations of trainees.
