Why did I choose MCW? I chose MCW as I wanted to train at a program with high volume and a focus on earned autonomy. I rotated here as a fourth year medical student and felt the residents were trained very well and held to a high standard both clinically and technically.
What does MCW have to offer? MCW offers the ability to experience all aspects of plastic surgery. Additionally, Froedtert Hospital allows for cases of high complexity and a high volume of trauma. My experience as an intern included both plastics and general surgery training, all of which applicable to my future career as a plastic surgeon.
What are my favorite things to do in Milwaukee? Between Milwaukee and Wauwatosa you can always find something new to do or somewhere to explore. The food is exceptional and the breweries seem endless. I'm always trying to find the next best hole-in-the-wall. Try Boo Boo's Sandwiches, Ono Kine Grindz, and grab a donut at Cranky Al's.
