Enter a Student. Emerge an Anesthesia Professional.
The Master of Science in Anesthesia (MSA) Program provides high quality education through challenging curriculum and comprehensive clinical teaching. We prepare safe and competent providers for the surgical patient.
MCW's MSA program is the first in the state, and one of only 12 nationwide, to train anesthesiologist assistants, who will work under the direction of leading physician anesthesiologists after graduation. Our curriculum immerses students in all areas of anesthesia knowledge throughout the 28-month program, transforming you into an expert clinician. Based at MCW's Milwaukee campus, the MSA program at MCW teaches to the highest level of professionalism. As part of MCW's Department of Anesthesiology, our students learn at top academic medical centers.
As I was applying to the MCW MSA program and throughout the interview process, I was impressed by how engaged every faculty member is in the students' academic and professional success. The outstanding faculty, the caring atmosphere, and the experience of the professors drew me to choose MCW over other similar MSA programs.
Andres Vazquez, member of the inaugural MSA class at MCW
My expectations for the MSA program have not only been met, but also exceeded since I started the program. Working through cases as a group in the STAR Center helps us to gain confidence and a good understanding of what we need to do in a surgery.
Hope Lundberg, member of the inaugural MSA class at MCW
