Center for AIDS Intervention Research (CAIR) - Prevention and Implementation Science Training (PAIST) Lab

About the PAIST  Lab

Co-directed by Steven John, PhD, MPH, and Katherine Quinn, PhD, the PAIST Lab is grounded in health equity, focused on reducing health disparities, and dedicated to providing interdisciplinary training to predoctoral, doctoral, and medical students interested in public health.

The Lab's objectives are to:

1) provide foundational training in research methods, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods analysis, literature review, and writing for publication;

(2) offer hands-on experience in prevention and implementation sciences with a focus on community engagement, health equity, and reducing health disparities;

(3) recruit and train researchers from diverse academic backgrounds and under-represented minority populations and provide them with the tools necessary to become independent researchers; and

(4) provide training in responsible and ethical conduct of human subjects research, especially within technology-driven methods of data collection, storage, and analysis.
