Biography

Sol Aldrete, MD received her medical degree from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, Mexico in 2009. Subsequently, she completed her Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

In August 2016, Dr. Aldrete joined the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor. She does outpatient HIV care at AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) and also attends on the outpatient and inpatient infectious diseases consult service at Froedtert Hospital.

Research Interests

Dr. Aldrete's clinical and research interests focus on HIV, particularly patients with immune non-response despite antiretrovirals. Her research seeks to identify the CD4+ T-cell count recovery pattern most highly predictive of composite adverse events after two years on antiretroviral therapy.
