Biography

Steve joined the Department of Neurosurgery in June 1999. He grew up in Grafton, WI, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1996. He then went on to pursue Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL, and received a degree in 1999. He became board certified in 1999 and currently holds a professional license in the state of Wisconsin.

Steve currently provides neurosurgical care for patients with head and/or spinal disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He is well versed as a first assistant in the operating room. He provides care from the first clinic visit(s), throughout a patient’s hospital stay, and well beyond.

Steve is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants. He acts as a preceptor for physician assistant and nurse practitioner students. He also gives lectures on various neurosurgical topics to nurses and student groups.

Steve currently sees outpatients in conjunction with neurosurgery staff at SpineCare and at the outpatient clinics of Froedtert Hospital. While most of his duties are at Froedtert Hospital, he is also credentialed at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls and St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.

Outside of the workplace, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys gardening and boating in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter.
