Biography

Dr. Wang joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of MCW in late 1999 after three and half years of post-doctoral training in the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Laboratory of University of Louisville. She received Master of Science and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1991 and 1996 respectively.  Dr. Wang has extensive experiences in the field of experimental biomechanics with a general goal of advancing our understanding of the musculoskeletal system and improving the care of patients with injured or diseased bone and joint. Her research interests include spine biomechanics, biomechanics of orthopaedic trauma and sports injuries, and kinematics and kinetic modeling for rehabilitation research. Dr. Wang is on the editorial board of Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, and a member of the Orthopaedic Research Society and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
