Biography

Hello! My name is Bri Suchy, and I grew up in Elmhurst, IL before I moved to Milwaukee, WI for my undergraduate studies. I studied at Marquette University, where I fell in love with biology, psychology, and the city of Milwaukee. I played on the club soccer team, volunteered at the AIDS resource center, and supported victims of sexual and domestic abuse at Aurora Sinai. It was these experiences that gave me a sense of community and my heightened my desire to give back. I was also involved in the MCW PURE internship program in which I learned just how crucial genetic counseling is within healthcare. After receiving my BS in Biological Sciences, I moved back to IL to work as a genetic counseling assistant at a pre-implantation genetic testing lab. This position gave me exposure to the genetic testing process and direct patient interactions. It is a pleasure to continue my education in Milwaukee where I expect to counsel a diverse patient population during our clinical practicum. When I am not in class, I spend time trying out new restaurants or bars with friends and family. Additionally, I enjoy being outdoors and staying active.
